Dr. Mathieu Dellinger

PI - CNRS academic researcher (EDYTEM and Durham University Honorary Fellow since 2022)

More info

His research focus on better understanding biogeochemical fluxes within the Critical Zone (CZ), particularly silicate and oxidative weathering, using non-traditional isotope systems (e.g. lithium, rhenium). As a PI of LAKE-SWICTCH, his role is to manage the project and supervise team members. Mathieu is also is charge of characterizing present-day and paleo-weathering conditions in Lake La Thuile using Li isotopes in carbonates.

Dr. William Rapuc

Postdoc (Durham University & EDYTEM)

More info

William is a sedimentologist and geochemist with a particular interest in the impact of human activities and climate fluctuations on the Alpine environment, working from lake sediment archives. Within the ERC LAKE SWITCH, his role is to provide a better understanding of changes in the weathering of Alpine soils by using isotope geochemistry (e.g., lithium, stable and radiogenic strontium, neodymium) on the detrital and authigenic fractions of sediments from Alpine lakes (Lac du Bourget, Lac de la Thuile, Lacs Robert). His role is also to deploy and retrieve lake monitoring equipements (sediment trap) and sensors. William is sharing his time between Durham University in the UK (mentor : Pr. Kevin Burton) and EDYTEM

Dr. Céline Begorre

Engineer (EDYTEM)

More info

Céline is a geochemist who specialises in sediment source fingerprinting in rivers. In LAKE SWITCH, she is in charge of sample preparation and geochemical and isotopic analyses (Ion chromatography, ICP-QQQ-MS) in water and sediments. She is also in charge of field work, i.e., sampling water and suspended solids in Alpine rivers (lake tributaries) and lakes, as well as sample preparation for analysis.

Akanksha Praharaj

PhD student - 2nd year (EDYTEM and IPGP)

More info

Akanksha is a geochemist working on alpine rivers from France and Switzerland. She uses lithium and strontium isotopes to study the role of hydrology and physical erosion on chemical weathering processes in alpine catchments. Her field sites are mainly small (<20 km2 catchments). Akanksha is sharing her time between EDYTEM and IPGP (co-supervisor : Dr. Julien Bouchez)

Opportunities

Dr. Mathieu Dellinger is not currently (i.e., in 2024) recruiting PhD students or postdocs for the project, but there might be new opportunities in 2025-2026.
